Holiday Shopping

At holiday time, we are surrounded by organizations asking us to give. And really, what is the Christmas spirit all about? Giving. (The Hannukah and Kwanzaa spirit may be that, too. I don't know.) So, if you feel like shopping for gifts to give while also... giving? Well anyway look at these

The Breast Cancer Site store (http://shop.thebreastcancersite.com/store/site.do?siteId=224&origin=41066) A portion of proceeds from your purchase goes to help fund mammograms. When you put an item in your cart, the amount being donated (your "giving total") shows up in the upper right hand corner of the page. There's breast cancer-themed items, jewelry, Christmas specials, and the DailyDeal has a highlighted item each day. Plus, $1 shipping in the US for a limited time!!
In addition to this, there are links to the Rainforest Site store, Child Health Site store, Hunger Site store, Animal Rescue Site store, and more, which are similar sites with proceeds going to different causes.

For the vegans/animal rights activists/anyone who likes cows, adorable, funky, affordable Soundgirl (http://www.soundgirl.com) is completely leather- and fur-free so you don't have to worry!

Support international children's organization UNICEF by buying holiday cards and gifts at their store (http://www.supportunicef.org/site/pp.asp?c=9fLEJSOALpE&b=258522).

So load up the shopping carts and buy, buy, buy as you give, give, give!
Wow 3 posts in one day! This is a record! OK, so it's because I have a lot of work that I don't want to do. Shut up. haha ok well have you recently been wanting to order something cute online but the shipping is just too darn much? To go along with the Black Friday post, I've found a list of sites that have HOLIDAY SHIPPING SALES! WOOHOO!

Black Friday

Today, Black Friday, is the biggest shopping day of the year!!! (Which is a good thing, right? so why is it so negatively named? Wasn't Black Thursday the day the Great Depression began?)However, being sane, I refused to a) get up at 2:50 AM this morning to make it to the front of a line or b) go out at all. Thanks, but I don't need some crazy 50 year old lady screaming at me from behind because I'm not getting in the door fast enough or something. I'll wait til next weekend. So, instead of going out, I stayed in and browsed nordstrom.com (the sale rack, since I do have Christmas shopping to do) and found some fun stuff:

ok i only like the hair... the vest isn't great, but it's only $18.90!

those who wish to be Ms. Nicole Richie(at least from the neck up): only $6!

adorable& warm... perfect for those ugly & cold winter days! $16.90

if only i could pull this off... and for under $8.
that's all for today, folks. and for all the plus-sized ladies out there, there's a lot of cute pieces for sale!
Happy Black Friday!

OK so to start, there's some exciting news around boston...

1. the museum of fine arts has a new exhibit! it's paris fashion collections from spring '06 excitement!!! I, unfortunately, being a lowly student of whom no one has heard, was not invited to the invitation-only, all-couture, if-you-weren't-invited-you're-just-not-as-cool-as-you-think opening night gala. Whatever. I'll go see it like 3 times. so ha.
2. viktor & rolf's long-awaited collaboration with H&M has arrived! on newbery street! let's head on down and spend $$!
3. a free people store has opened at the pru! despite the fact that their sweaters run about $80-200 and their necklaces routinely cost over $400, I'mma go check it out. check myself out in their dressing room mirrors. and then run home crying cuz i can't afford it. You're jealous.
Hey to all who are reading this!!
This is the first post of my blog which, despite there being 3497429487524* blogs already like this (of which I read like 10. I'm cool like that.) , will be about lastest updates in the fashion world and basically just fantabulous clothing found while I spend hours surfing the net (aka procrastinating...) To tell you a bit about me... I'm a student and I live in Boston, MA chyeaaaa go Sox!!! Soooo I enjoy staring people with cute outfits down or at least being creepy and trying to figure out where I can get a skirt like theirs for under $50 lol... You should be expecting this to be a lot of "OMG! cutest shoes/skirt/hat/dress EVERRRRRR"... :)
